Projects and Opportunities Someone with disabilities may just need an extra pair of hands to get things done or he may be looking for someone who would become a special friend. Your involvement can make that person feel like he is part of your/his community; can save hundreds of dollars that persons with disabilities would have to spend on yard work, painting, and other kinds of routine upkeep; and can bring warmth and happiness into someone’s life. Examples of projects are:Painting the interior rooms of a house—bedrooms, hallways, etc. Sealing or staining ramps and decks Yardwork: mulching, weeding, trimming bushes, raking leaves, planting flowers Washing the inside and outside windows of a home Throwing a theme based party or hosting a barbeque Visiting Playing games, reading together or working on a craft project with an individual or with all of the residents at a group home or at a day program Driving someone to and from an appointment Clerical work at Enable’s headquarters Enable has programs and serves persons in their own homes throughout Central Jersey, particularly in the counties of Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset and Monmouth.
