Enable Consumers And Bloomberg Give Back To The Community

On December 7th, consumers in Enable’s Princeton day program had the opportunity to “give a bear, take a bear,” thanks to Bloomberg. For the past year, volunteers from Bloomberg have been visiting the day program once a month to work with consumers on various projects. This month, they brought all the supplies for making Build-a-Bears. The men and women in the program enjoyed creating stuffed bears and snowmen. The project included making one for themselves, and one to donate to The Children’s Home Society of NJ.
“Our consumers had a blast,” said Robyn Steinman, Chief Operating Officer at Enable. “Several individuals asked if they could donate their own bear to the children as well.” Thankfully, Bloomberg brought enough materials so that each person had the opportunity to create several stuffed animals.
Since 1989, Enable has been providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Celebrating 30 years of excellence, the organization counts among its programs residential, day and in-home support services.
