Princeton – (8/21/19) – Last week, Enable announced the opening of its newly expanded day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, at its Princeton location on Roszel Road. With the capacity to serve up to 60 individuals, Enable’s newly expanded program has been designed with several breakout rooms, a sensory room available for dedicated activities including sensory awareness, functional curriculum, and art & music therapy, and on-site Behavioral and Nursing services.
Enable expanded its Princeton program to address the growing need for adult services for individuals aging out of school programs, with an emphasis on working with persons with disabilities who may require higher levels of behavior supports.
“Enable’s new Day Program is staffed for and specializes in meeting more challenging behavioral needs,” says Anthony Camuso, Director of Day & Employment Services at Enable. “For young adults aging out of the school system, it is critical they continue to receive appropriate educational and training opportunities to become active members of their community. Through structured, individualized day programming, we provides opportunities for activities of daily living skills training (ADLs), as well as activities that facilitate community integration and socialization.”
In addition to the expanded Princeton day program, Enable has day programs located in Middlesex, NJ, and 21 community-based group homes, and in-home support services throughout Central NJ.
